Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Delivery
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical brokerage systems including order routing, OMS, execution engines, risk modules, FIX gateways, market data pipelines, and settlement systems.
• Architect systems with high throughput, low latency, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive end-to-end delivery from requirements to production, with strong ownership of quality, performance, and SLAs.
• Mentor and guide mid/senior engineers; foster best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Translate brokerage product requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Deep understanding of exchange protocols (NSE, BSE, MCX, CDS, etc.), FIX, WebSocket feeds, market data normalization, auction mechanisms, and trading lifecycle.
• Optimize core workflows such as smart order routing, bracket orders, MIS/NRML, margining, client ledger, and regulatory reporting (e.g., SEBI, exchange reporting).
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
• Partner with cross-functional teams—Product, Risk, Compliance, Ops, and Business—to ensure alignment of technical roadmaps with strategic goals.
• Communicate technical trade-offs and risks effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Liaise with external vendors, exchanges, and liquidity partners for integrations and uptime guarantees.
Performance, Security & Resilience
• Define performance benchmarks, SLAs, system uptime targets, and alerting frameworks.
• Champion secure coding practices, encryption, user authentication protocols, and data protection policies.
• Lead root-cause analysis and remediation of production incidents.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• Graduation from a top Indian university/institute (IIT, NIT, BITS, IIIT, top state/National universities, premier business/tech schools) is a strong plus.
Experience
• 5+ years of overall software engineering experience.
• 4–5 years specifically in the brokerage/financial trading domain, with experience at top broking setups strongly preferred.
• Experience working on brokerage tech stacks, trading platforms, OMS, risk engines, market data feeds, exchange connectivity, FIX protocol, or algo trading engines.
Technical Proficiency
• Polyglot with strong coding skills in Go / C++ / Python / Node.js (Deep experience in one and knowledge of others).
• Experience with REST/FIX APIs, WebSockets, messaging queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ), databases (Postgres, Redis), and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Linux, Kubernetes/Docker, CI/CD, observability tools (Grafana/Prometheus/ELK).
• Understanding of exchange protocols, order types, matching engines, price/time priority, margin calculations, settlement cycles.
Soft Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
