## Role Overview

We are building a high-impact Category Analytics function for a large-scale, fast-growing consumer commerce platform operating in essential and perishable categories.

This role is designed for someone who can own category analytics end-to-end, translating complex data into clear, actionable category decisions across forecasting, pricing, demand, and consumer behavior.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical depth with a category-first mindset and is comfortable operating in non-traditional, high-ambiguity environments where standard playbooks do not always apply.

## Key Responsibilities

### Category Analytics Ownership

* Own analytics for a perishable category, covering:
* Forecasting and demand planning
* Pricing analytics and performance tracking
* Supply-side and availability analytics
* Consumer behavior and category penetration analysis
* Channel performance analytics (from a category lens)
* Build a holistic view of category health using data from multiple sources.

### Planning & Allocation Intelligence

* Support category planning decisions, such as:
* Inventory and allocation logic across a distributed network
* Determining how much inventory should flow to which nodes/outlets/terminals.
* Work with planning models, rules, or algorithms that guide operational decisions.

### Insight to Action

* Generate insights on:
* What consumers are buying (and not buying)
* What drives repeat behavior and penetration
* Which products or price points work (or break) unit economics
* Convert analytics into clear decision inputs for category execution leaders.

### Strategic Decision Support

* Act as a thought partner to category owners on:
* Assortment expansion or rationalization
* Pricing and promotion effectiveness
* Scaling decisions across geographies or micro-markets
* Help leadership evaluate trade-offs using data, not intuition alone.

## Ideal Candidate Profile

### Experience & Background

* 4+ years of experience in category analytics, business analytics, or data-led category roles.
* Strong preference for experience in:
* E-commerce
* Quick commerce
* Consumer tech platforms with complex demand–supply dynamics
* Experience working with perishable categories is a plus, but not mandatory.

### Skill Set

* Strong grounding in:
* Demand and pricing analytics
* Forecasting and planning logic
* Consumer and category insights
* Comfortable working with imperfect data and evolving models.
* Able to explain complex analysis in simple, decision-ready language.
