VP – Supply
Role Overview
Senior leadership role responsible for building and scaling the end-to-end labour supply engine for a large distributed, blue-collar workforce operating across rural and field-intensive environments. Reporting directly to the leadership team, this person will own supply strategy, workforce acquisition, onboarding, retention, utilisation, welfare, and supply economics, while building a scalable operating model that can grow from thousands to lakhs of workers across multiple geographies.
Location: Mumbai
Travel: Extensive travel across rural and district operating locations.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Leadership & Strategy
- Own the complete supply charter across regions, districts, and workforce categories.
- Build organisation structure, operating cadence, and field team architecture.
- Drive labour availability, reliability, retention, and supply quality.
- Own supply-side economics including acquisition cost, fulfilment cost, and worker utilisation.
Workforce Acquisition & Onboarding
- Build and scale sourcing channels including field networks, referrals, contractors, and community partnerships.
- Own worker onboarding, KYC, verification, profiling, and deployment readiness.
- Define sourcing partner incentives, SLAs, and performance scorecards.
- Continuously improve acquisition efficiency and worker quality.
Workforce Planning & Deployment Readiness
- Build workforce segmentation based on skill, productivity, reliability, and mobility.
- Align workforce readiness with seasonal demand cycles and geographic demand spikes.
- Create scalable supply playbooks across multiple districts and operating environments.
Retention, Welfare & Productivity
- Own worker retention, reactivation, continuity, and engagement.
- Build welfare systems covering payments, grievance handling, accommodation, safety, and communication.
- Design incentive structures linked to attendance, reliability, and productivity.
- Reduce absenteeism, drop-offs, and worker churn.
Systems, Data & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Build data-driven systems for worker profiles, attendance, payouts, productivity, and channel performance.
- Partner with product, finance, demand, and execution teams to improve workforce planning and operational efficiency.
- Drive regular business reviews, dashboards, SOPs, and decision frameworks.
Candidate Requirements
Must Have
- 10+ years of experience leading large blue-collar, gig, field, or distributed workforce operations.
- Proven track record of building supply networks and operating playbooks from the ground up.
- Experience managing large on-ground teams across multiple cities, districts, or rural markets.
- Strong understanding of worker behaviour, migration, incentives, retention, and field operations.
- Comfortable with extensive field travel and operating in ambiguous, high-growth environments.
Language
- Fluent in Marathi, Hindi, and English.
