Role Overview

The Head of Performance Marketing will own full-funnel user acquisition and growth engine. This is a hands-on leadership role - not a strategy-only position. The ideal candidate has personally driven 1โ†’10 scale at a high-velocity B2C consumer brand, managed large performance budgets across Google and Meta ecosystems, and built + led high-performing growth teams. You will be responsible for driving new user acquisition, activation, and retention through paid and organic performance channels, with full P&L accountability on marketing spend.

Key Responsibilities

1. Performance Marketing & Paid Acquisition

  • Own end-to-end paid performance marketing across Google (Search, UAC, YouTube, GDN) and Meta (Facebook, Instagram) - from strategy to daily execution
  • Manage and optimise monthly marketing budgets of โ‚น5Cr+, consistently delivering against CAC, ROAS, and activation KPIs
  • Drive full-funnel campaigns: new user acquisition, re-engagement, retargeting, and winback - across app and web
  • Leverage Apple Search Ads, LinkedIn, and native ad platforms for targeted acquisition at scale
  • Own MMP setup and attribution (AppsFlyer / Adjust) - ensure clean, accurate performance measurement across all channels

2. Growth Strategy & Funnel Optimisation

  • Build and own the user growth roadmap - from top-of-funnel awareness to account opening, first trade, and repeat activation
  • Identify funnel drop-offs and work with product and engineering teams to improve onboarding conversion and activation rates
  • Drive experimentation - A/B testing on creatives, landing pages, audience segments, and bidding strategies
  • Develop a data-driven growth playbook with clear metrics, dashboards, and reporting cadences

3. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Build, manage, and mentor a performance marketing team of ~10 across paid media, analytics, content, and growth ops
  • Set clear performance goals, run structured reviews, and drive a culture of ownership and experimentation within the team
  • Work cross-functionally with product, design, data, and brand teams to ensure cohesive go-to-market execution

4. Analytics, Insights & Budget Governance

  • Own marketing analytics - GA4, MMP dashboards, cohort analysis, and channel-level attribution
  • Deliver regular performance reviews to leadership with actionable insights and recommendations
  • Govern marketing budget allocation with rigorous ROI discipline โ€” scale what works, kill what doesn't

5. Brand & Creative Strategy (Performance-Led)

  • Partner with creative teams to develop high-converting ad communication - performance-first, not brand-first
  • Ensure ad copy, creative formats, and messaging are continuously tested and optimised based on data
  • Stay ahead of platform algorithm changes, new ad formats, and audience targeting innovations

Ideal Candidate

  • 4+ years in performance marketing high-growth B2C consumer companies - think Swiggy, Zomato, CRED, Groww, Zepto, or equivalent velocity
  • Demonstrable 1โ†’10 scale experience: has personally taken a product from early traction to mass scale through performance channels
  • Hands-on with Google Ads (Search, UAC, YouTube, GDN) and Meta Ads at โ‚น5Cr+ monthly budgets -not just oversight, but execution-level expertise
  • Strong command of MMP platforms (AppsFlyer, Adjust) and marketing analytics tools (GA4, Mixpanel, or equivalent)
  • Experience leading and scaling a team of 8โ€“12 growth professionals - hiring, goal-setting, mentoring
  • Fintech or broking experience is a plus, not a requirement - hunger, speed, and data-first thinking matter more
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and early-stage constraints - able to build systems and processes, not just manage existing ones
  • Strong communicator who can present performance data clearly to founders and non-marketing stakeholders
