Staff Engineer

Looking for a Staff Engineer with 9+ years of experience who drives org-level architecture across multiple pods, influences product direction through technical leadership, and excels in cross-team collaboration and scalable system design.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Architect Multi-Pod Systems: Lead design and ownership of architecture spanning multiple services/pods across the organization, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
2. Drive Product Decisions: Partner with Product Managers to influence and define product features, technical feasibility, and long-term roadmap.
3. Cross-Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance, review designs, and resolve architectural conflicts across multiple teams without direct authority.
4. Build High-Performance Backend Systems: Design and implement backend services, microservices, and distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and observability.
5. Mentorship & Standards: Coach senior engineers, enforce best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and ensure org-wide adoption of architectural standards.

Requirements

1. Experience Level: Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or strong SDE4-equivalent with 9-12 years of total experience.
2. Technical Expertise: Strong backend development skills (Java, Go, or similar), microservices, distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, Kubernetes, observability tools.
3. Product Company Background: Must have worked in product-first environments rather than pure services companies.
4. Cross-Team Impact: Proven ability to own architecture across multiple pods and influence decisions across teams.
