HR Head
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced HR Head who can lead the HR function end-to-end for an organization of around 400 employees. The role requires someone who has worked in a startup or high-growth environment, is comfortable operating in a hands-on leadership capacity, and can manage core HR functions across Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Talent Management, and US hiring/onboarding.
This is a leadership role suited for someone who can build, improve, and manage HR systems while also staying close to execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Leadership & Strategy
- Own the overall HR function for the organization.
- Partner with business leaders to align people strategy with business goals.
- Build scalable HR processes suitable for a growing company.
- Drive employee experience, engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
2. Talent Acquisition
- Lead hiring strategy across functions and levels.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment planning, sourcing strategy, interview coordination, offer closure, and onboarding.
- Work closely with leadership and hiring managers to understand manpower needs.
- Improve hiring efficiency, quality of hire, and candidate experience.
3. US Hiring & Onboarding
- Manage hiring and onboarding processes for US-based roles or US-aligned teams.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across time zones.
- Ensure smooth joining, onboarding communication, documentation coordination, and employee lifecycle support.
- Support HR processes aligned to US business requirements.
4. Learning & Development
- Identify training needs across teams.
- Design or manage L&D initiatives for employees and managers.
- Support capability building, leadership development, and functional training programs.
- Track training effectiveness and employee development outcomes.
5. Talent Management
- Own performance management processes.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, career development, and succession planning initiatives.
- Support managers in handling employee performance, development, and people-related concerns.
- Build frameworks for talent reviews, role clarity, and growth paths.
6. HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure smooth employee lifecycle management from hiring to exit.
- Maintain HR policies, processes, documentation, and employee records.
- Support payroll, attendance, HRMS, compliance, and benefits processes where required.
- Resolve employee queries and escalations in a timely and practical manner.
Must-Have Requirements
- Proven HR leadership experience in an HR Head / HR Lead / Senior HR Manager capacity.
- Prior experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Experience managing HR for a company of around 400 employees or similar scale.
- Strong hands-on exposure to Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and Talent Management.
- Experience with US hiring and onboarding.
- Willingness and ability to work in a US shift.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work closely with senior leadership.
Good-to-Have
- Experience building HR processes from scratch.
- Exposure to HRMS implementation or HR process automation.
- Experience handling performance management systems, engagement programs, and retention initiatives.
- Prior experience in IT, technology, SaaS, services, or startup environments.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a mature HR leader who has operated in a startup setup, handled HR at a few-hundred-employee scale, and can manage both strategic and execution-heavy HR responsibilities. They should be comfortable working with leadership, managing ambiguity, driving hiring and talent initiatives, and supporting US-aligned hiring/onboarding while working in a US shift.
