Location: India (Bangalore / Gurgaon with flexibility on relocation to Bangalore)

Reports to: Chief Business Officer

Role Overview

The Senior Category Manager will lead the commercial strategy, assortment, pricing, and profitability for one or more key home décor categories such as Furniture, Décor & Accessories, or Textiles.

The role demands a mix of analytical rigour, creative instinct, and commercial acumen to build compelling, profitable assortments aligned with the brand’s design philosophy and seasonal storytelling.

You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Sourcing, Design, Marketing, Creative, and Product teams to deliver outstanding value and experience to customers.

Key Responsibilities

Selection & Revenue Management

1. Own the category P&L covering revenue, margins, and assortment performance.
2. Define and execute category strategy (assortment width/depth, sourcing mix, and launch calendar).
3. Partner with Design and Sourcing teams to manage vendor relationships and product development.
4. Align launches, campaigns, and promotions with marketing initiatives.
5. KPIs: Selection growth, revenue, contribution margin, sell-through.

Site Merchandising

1. Own the category’s digital presentation and product discoverability.
2. Collaborate with Creative and Marketing to ensure visuals, styling, and storytelling reflect the brand identity.
3. Improve product findability and conversion through analytics.
4. KPIs: Conversion rate, search performance, product discoverability.

Pricing & Promotions

1. Conduct competitive benchmarking and maintain pricing advantage.
2. Define pricing architecture, markdown and promotional strategy.
3. Analyze campaign performance and optimize ROI.
4. KPIs: Margin, discount depth, promo ROI.

Category Analytics

1. Deliver insights on pricing elasticity, sales velocity, and competitive benchmarks.
2. Build reports and dashboards to support category decisions.
3. KPIs: Data-backed decisions, assortment efficiency.

Team Management

1. Lead a small team of Product Data & Catalogue Specialists.
2. Ensure product data accuracy, SEO readiness, and flawless online presentation.

Success Metrics

1. Category Revenue & Margin Growth
2. Assortment Productivity (Sell-through %, SKU efficiency)
3. Conversion Rate & Discoverability
4. Pricing Competitiveness
5. Promotional ROI & Stock Turn

Ideal Profile

1. 7+ years of experience in category management, assortment planning, or merchandising in home décor, lifestyle, or consumer goods (online-first experience preferred).
2. Proven ability to own and scale P&Ls, manage pricing, and optimize stock.
3. Analytical yet creative mindset with a strong grasp of trends and customer insights.
4. Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth, digital-first setups.
5. Experience with international markets (UK/EU preferred) is a plus.
6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
