Business Intelligence Head
About the Role:
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Head to build and lead the organisation's BI capability and transform data into a genuine decision-making engine for the business.
This is not a dashboard-only role. The mandate is to establish a trusted single source of truth, bring consistency to business metrics, diagnose performance gaps and enable leadership to make faster, better-informed decisions.
The role will initially involve building and managing a team of approximately four business analysts / business managers, subject to final organisation design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and own the overall BI and analytics roadmap.
- Establish a reliable single source of truth for key business metrics.
- Define and standardise KPI definitions across functions.
- Understand business problems and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Build management dashboards and reporting systems linked to business decisions.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on business performance.
- Generate actionable insights across functions such as operations, finance, supply chain, marketing and sales.
- Build and manage the BI / analytics team.
- Define team structure, hiring requirements and delivery standards.
- Improve data quality, reporting reliability and analytical rigour.
- Work closely with senior leadership and functional heads.
- Create a regular BI operating cadence integrated with business reviews.
- Build a 12-month roadmap covering data foundation, reporting and advanced analytics.
What We Are Looking For:
- Senior experience in BI, Business Analytics or Analytics Leadership.
- Proven experience building or scaling a BI / analytics function.
- Strong people-management and team-building experience.
- Excellent business and commercial acumen.
- Ability to translate business questions into analytical frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, warehouses and BI architecture.
- Experience with dashboards, reporting and analytics platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication.
- Ability to challenge assumptions and convert data into clear recommendations.
- Experience working directly with senior business / leadership teams.
Preferred Background:
Experience in FMCG, consumer, food, retail, D2C or another high-volume operating environment will be valuable.
Candidates from purely technical data-engineering backgrounds may not be suitable unless they also demonstrate strong business partnering and analytics leadership.
What Success Looks Like:
Within the first year, the successful candidate should have:
- Created a trusted single source of truth.
- Established clear KPI definitions and reporting governance.
- Built a high-performing BI / analytics team.
- Reduced dependency on fragmented manual reporting.
- Embedded analytics into regular management reviews.
- Demonstrated measurable business impact through data-led decision-making.
Why This Role?
This is a build-and-transform opportunity for a senior analytics leader who wants to move beyond reporting and create a data-driven operating system for a growing consumer business.
