AVP- Finance

About the Role

HireVeda is looking for an experienced AVP Finance to lead the company's financial control function and build a strong, scalable finance foundation for the next phase of growth.

This is a controllership-heavy leadership role with significant ownership across financial control, working capital, capex, procurement finance, MIS and finance processes.

The individual will initially focus on strengthening the core finance function and will progressively take on greater FP&A and business-finance responsibilities, with a long-term career path toward VP Finance and CFO.

We are looking for a mature, methodical finance leader who combines strong financial discipline with the ability to operate in a growing business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Governance

• Own the end-to-end Financial Control / Controllership function.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness and integrity of financial reporting.
• Establish appropriate financial controls, review mechanisms and governance processes.
• Strengthen finance discipline as the organization scales.

Working Capital & Cash Flow

• Own working-capital management across the business.
• Monitor receivables, payables, inventory and cash conversion.
• Identify opportunities to improve cash flow and working-capital efficiency.
• Work closely with business and operations teams on cash-flow planning.

Capex & Procurement Finance

• Manage the finance component of capex cycles and procurement.
• Establish appropriate budgeting, approval and control mechanisms.
• Evaluate financial implications of major capex and procurement decisions.
• Partner with business teams to ensure financial discipline in spending.

MIS & Management Reporting

• Own the preparation of monthly MIS for the Founder and senior management.
• Translate financial data into actionable business insights.
• Track key financial performance indicators, variances and risks.
• Support management decision-making through timely and accurate reporting.

Finance Process & SOP Development

• Build and implement finance SOPs and scalable processes.
• Identify gaps in existing finance processes and strengthen controls.
• Create processes that can support the company's next phase of growth.
• Improve the efficiency, automation and reliability of finance reporting.

FP&A & Business Finance

• Gradually expand the role from controllership into FP&A and forward-looking financial planning.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
• Partner with leadership to understand business performance and financial drivers.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic and operational decisions.

Team Building

• Start with a lean finance team and progressively build the function.
• Hire, develop and structure the finance team as the organization scales.
• Create clear ownership and accountability across the finance function.

What We're Looking For

• 12–15 years of relevant finance experience.
• Strong experience in Financial Control / Controllership.
• Proven ownership of working capital and cash-flow management.
• Experience managing capex and procurement finance.
• Experience creating or strengthening finance SOPs and processes.
• Strong experience in monthly MIS and management reporting.
• Exposure to FP&A, budgeting, forecasting or business finance.
• Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership / founders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working with technology-driven financial reports and data.
• Ability to operate hands-on in a lean environment while building for scale.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is someone who:

• Has built a strong career in controllership / financial control.
• Has managed meaningful working-capital and cash-flow responsibilities.
• Has experience with capex, procurement and operational finance.
• Has built or improved finance processes during business growth.
• Can independently prepare and interpret management MIS.
• Is comfortable moving beyond historical reporting into FP&A and business planning.
• Is technology-comfortable despite potentially coming from a traditional finance environment.
• Has the maturity to eventually take ownership of the broader finance function as a future CFO.
